How clean is your department?

Afternoon all!

The office move is round the corner and we think it's probably a good idea to get a 'move on' (okay that was bad!) with cleaning up work areas.   

As such, please could we all take 30 minutes this (and subsequent) Friday(s) (until move) to have a tidy up?

Waste paper can go into the recycling bins and any other things into the bin. Please let any of the SHIFT team know if you need more bags and we will endevour to assist! :) 

Tina is arranging crates for storage of items that you would like to take over to the new office but these won’t be available until possibly later next week.  For now perhaps we could start with a general tidy up by disposing of items that we definitely know we don’t want to take over.

Last but no least; the desks are due to go in on Monday (HURRAH!) and the kitchen is now fitted! Our space has changed quite dramatically so we'd really like to get teams over to view it at some point next week. More on this to follow..

We have been discussing possible themes for the chillout room and above is the one that we have all agreed on which brings together the old, the new, the funky and maybe even something blue...(actually its more of a Teal colour but you know what Im getting at). If any of you come across furniture that fits into the above theme when browsing around the January sales please let us know and that way we can purchase things that will be even more personal to you.

Timelines for the Final Push

Detail to be confirmed but we need to vacate the current premises by the 31Mar2012 and are planning to be in situ at the new office by the last week in Feb2012!

Discussion #1

Music is the food of life so how will we get out tunes to reflect our fine taste...

We are thinking about an inexpensive, shared, wireless offering and so far the two options below have been put foward; both have the ability to play 'wirelessly' from out pcs, iphones and ipads (this ensures everyone can buy into the dream ;0)  )

Office Location - Shop till you drop

I know you are thinking two things...how do I get to and from work and to and from Westfield! Well heres a map. The good news is that Westfield is within reach but not a 5 minute stroll from the office (trust me your bank account will thank you for it!

One potential route (mine) -  The office is a 15minute walk from  Shepherds Bush station or on wetter days a 5 minute walk from Latimer road (which is the closest station / Tube - Hammersmith and City; Circle).

Site Visit - VML

We took a trip to VML to see what approach they have made to their redesigned office! The most insightful thing was actually the working environment (1st pic of desks below) and the use of desk dividers - is it something we want and if so should they be understated.
